Development History:
For those of you who are
interested, FreePOS is now 1,000,000+ lines of
code... but it didn't happen over night. In
fact, FreePOS has been in constant development
since 2003.
FreePOS V4.95 is no longer
our newest software, but it was the first
edition of FreePOS to really "wow!" our customer
base. We've posted this page here so that you
can see the evolution of FreePOS over the last

The FreeVideo Image Server (first in V3.53)
allows you to hook up inexpensive web cams to
your POS system. You can view the up to 8
cameras from any terminal on the POS system.
With this powerful feature, you'll be able to
keep an eye on everything. FreeVideo is
completely integrated into FreePOS's MGR menu
for quick access. Watch cashiers, back doors,
break areas or even parking lots.

quad screen viewer let's you see what is going

Table bussing is now available. When this
feature is activated, closed tables will show a
brown dish icon in them until they are bussed.
Below: The
latest feature is table timers... when a timer
is turned on, you can see a programmable bar
graph and/or the number of minutes since the
last service was done.

- Area Reporting &
Functions
Areas allow you to close "part" of your
restaurant without affecting the money counts
in other areas of the establishment. For
example, you might close the dining room at
9:00P and leave the bar open until 4:00A.

checks currently in progress. Run it for a

The ability to re-open
a fast order, tab, or quick service mode
check is now fully touch screen driven and
does not require the installer to load a
macro script. It is now possible to take a
check closed to the "BAR AREA" and transfer
it to the "DINING ROOM AREA" - which makes
end of day money counts fast & flexible in a
multiple cash drawer environment.
- Item & Item Group
Count Downs
FreePOS can now keep
track of how many items are left. The best
part is that you can have multiple menu
items share a counter. For example, you
might have 4 lobster dishes that each use
the "LOBSTER" counter. When the counter
reaches zero, the POS informs the servers &
prevents further ordering of all items
sharing the counter.

Station Number
Do you have two bars?
